<p>We are looking for a skilled <strong>Engineer I, Product Development</strong> to support the sustaining and new product development for fiber connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues, and recommend and document effective solutions.</p> <h1><span style="font-size:18.0pt">How You'll Help Us Connect the World:</span></h1> <p><strong>Engineering Expertise</strong></p> <ul> <li>Create documentation of product requirements based on industry standards.</li> <li>Support designs of new components and assemblies.</li> <li>Create documentation to support the release of new and modified products.</li> <li>Support the optical and mechanical testing of fiber optic products.</li> <li>Work with Manufacturing on process development and introductions of new products into Manufacturing.</li> <li>Perform data analysis and evaluation.</li> <li>Leads and maintains project scopes, tracks Product Development projects, and ensures timely completion of project timelines and milestones.</li> <li>Conducts Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to assess product criticality and ensure design robustness.</li> <li>Review and approve product design and engineering change documentation for conformance to company, customer, agency and industry specifications and standards</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Collaboration and Communication</strong></p> <ul> <li>Accountable to Engineering Management in support of the business unit growth objectives.</li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li>Collaboration with current staff which includes other engineers and technicians in team</li> <li>Collaborates with global design centers and manufacturing sites to resolve design and manufacturing issues, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.</li> <li>Develop awareness of corporate, business unit and quality management system documentation.</li> <li>Develop awareness of relevant industry standards for fiber optic products</li> <li>Develop awareness of the range of lab test equipment.</li> <li>Develop knowledge of fiber optic products and technical principals.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Process Excellence</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Ensures seamless design, documentation, and product change management processes.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Key Skills</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Solid knowledge and skilled user of 3D CAD software.</li> <li>Solid knowledge of Product Development Process</li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Understanding of design for manufacturing for sheet metal & Plastic components</li> <li>Skilled at planning and ability to pay attention to details.</li> <li>Ability to effectively work within a team environment.</li> </ul> <h1><span style="font-size:18.0pt">Required Qualifications for Consideration:</span></h1> <h1><span style="font-size:18.0pt">Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5years of relevant experience in product development/design. Proficiency in leading CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD. Should demonstrate strong knowledge of 2D drafting and GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, sustaining engineering principles.
