As Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting project success by managing procurement activities, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring materials and equipment are available to meet project schedules. Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support project and operational needs.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Maintain current and competitive pricing on all materials and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Review, coordinate, and process purchase orders while maintaining accurate records of goods ordered and received.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Assist the Estimating Department in obtaining special project pricing as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Coordinate the purchasing and delivery of materials to jobsites to ensure timely fulfillment of project requirements.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Maintain accurate inventory records of materials, equipment, and small tools, including performing regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Monitor inventory levels and work with field and production teams to determine supply needs and avoid shortages or overstock.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Coordinate the purchase of small tools and fixed assets while maintaining warehouse organization in a safe and orderly manner.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Coordinate labor and scheduling for material deliveries as required.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Ensure the quality of procured materials and resolve issues with vendors when necessary.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Participate in required company training programs and stay current with purchasing practices and technology.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Perform additional duties as assigned and adhere to all company policies and procedures.</li> </ul> Education and Experience: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;margin-left:0.0px">3–5 years of previous purchasing or procurement experience required; experience in the carpentry or construction industry is a plus.</li> <li style="margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;margin-left:0.0px">Proficiency with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office and other common business software.</li> <li style="margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;margin-left:0.0px">Working knowledge of the construction industry and related trades.</li> <li style="margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;margin-left:0.0px">Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials commonly used for company construction projects.</li> </ul>E&K is proud to be an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, E-Verify, and Drug Free Employer.
