This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is located in south Chicago at Grace’s Chicago 71st site</span></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><p>Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and work orders for adjusting, overhauling, or repairing equipment and machinery, including pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.</p> <p>Thread, cut, weld, drill, and prepare materials to complete work assignments.</p> <p>Work alone or as part of a crew in/outdoors at the site, and may be required to work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, and elevated platforms.</p> <p>Collaborate with the Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) department on motors, agitators, pumps, valves, and actuators, but not limited to these tasks.</p> <p>Maintain a clean and orderly maintenance shop and work area during the shift, and prepare for the next shift to follow.</p> <p>Work with/around hazardous materials and be responsible for wearing the correct PPE necessary to perform work safely.</p> <p>Perform preventive, corrective, and precision maintenance on mechanical equipment.</p> <p>Participate in the development and implementation of new maintenance strategies and procedures to improve equipment reliability and performance.</p> <p>Operate forklifts and scissor lifts</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Physical Requirements and Environment</b></H2> </div><ul style="margin-top:0.0;margin-bottom:0.0"><li>Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator </li><li>Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. </li><li>Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. </li></ul></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Required Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><p>Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical environment</p> <p>Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience.</p> <p>Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and understand units of measure (English and Metric).</p> <p>Ability to physically maneuver in tight, high, or difficult spaces.</p> <p>Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, compressors, and hydraulic systems.</p> <p>Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Experienced in welding using MIG, TIG or other procedures.</p> <p>Qualified in precision laser alignments</p> <p>Qualified in Rigging</p> <p> </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><p>Certification in mechanical maintenance or a relevant trade (e.g., millwright, industrial mechanic).</p> <p>Experience with predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis or thermography.
