We have a generous holiday package; plus the opportunity to buy more, great pension schemes and a number of health and wellbeing initiatives to support you.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Closing Date: 09 August 2026</span></span></p> <p> </p><p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><strong>The Role</strong> </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Electronics Technician to support practical teaching and laboratory activities across the School of Engineering’s electronic laboratories.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Working as part of a skilled technical team, you will support taught modules, student projects, and research activities while contributing to the development of new laboratory experiments and facilities.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">You will be involved in a wide range of student-led projects and research initiatives involving:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Analogue and digital circuits, including troubleshooting and fault finding</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Printed circuit board (PCB) design, prototyping and assembly</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">AC/DC low-voltage motor drive systems</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Microcontroller based systems (Microchip PIC, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi) including embedded programming</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">3D-printing and basic CAD design for prototype components</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">You will design, demonstrate, operate and maintain specialist electronic equipment, ensuring all work is carried out safely and effectively. You will also instruct and guide students in the use of laboratory equipment and processes, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, data acquisition systems, and microcontroller platforms.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">To be successful in this role, you should have substantial practical experience in an electronics environment, ideally within a teaching workshop or laboratory.
