About this role

<p> </p> <p><strong>How You’ll Make an Impact </strong></p> <p>As a Junior Process Chemist, you&apos;ll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving safe and efficient chemical manufacturing operations in a dynamic plant environment. You&apos;ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will: </p> <ul> <li>Operate process units safely in compliance with PPE requirements and established safety procedures.</li> <li>Process chemical products according to batch sheet instructions using manual and Distributed Control System (DCS) operations. </li> <li>Perform loading, unloading, and sampling of materials including tank trucks, tank cars, and drums. </li> <li>Monitor and record process parameters and production data accurately. </li> <li>Enter production data into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP. </li> <li>Report near misses, incidents, high potential incidents (HPI), and deviations, and support root cause analysis and troubleshooting. </li> <li>Provide ideas for process optimization and operational improvements. </li> <li>Collaborate with Quality Assurance Laboratory (QAL) and Maintenance teams for smooth operations. </li> <li>Maintain equipment condition through housekeeping and minor maintenance activities. </li> <li>Prepare equipment for maintenance, issue permits, and support safe handover and trial runs. </li> <li>Monitor work under permits and ensure compliance within the unit. </li> <li>Maintain housekeeping standards across plant areas. </li> <li>Participate in emergency response, safety audits, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). </li> <li>Perform additional duties as assigned. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success </strong></p> <ul> <li>Diploma in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic record </li> <li>1–5 years of experience in the chemical industry, preferably within a specialty chemicals environment. </li> <li>Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety procedures including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). </li> <li>Experience with plant operations, including handling hazardous chemicals and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). </li> <li>Basic understanding of process instrumentation and mechanical equipment. </li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. </li> <li>Ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and work independently while demonstrating initiative. </li> <li>Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. </li> <li>Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with standard business systems. </li> <li>Awareness of environmental regulations and safety practices in the process industry. </li> </ul>
