About this role
<p>➢ Purpose of Position<br> - The verifier will report to BV M&O Environmental Independent Verification Team Manager based in<br> Mumbai, India.<br> - All tasks will be performed in accordance with the instructions, processes and qualification schemes of<br> the BV M&O division quality system.<br> - The newly formed environmental verification team will work in close collaboration with existing<br> environmental teams which have already been set in place in some regions.<br> - The position may require exceptional travelling to Paris, France for coordination of activities.<br> ➢ Major Responsibilities:<br> - Get qualified as IMO DCS and EU MRV verifier by the beginning of next verification period starting 1st<br> January 2025.<br> - Perform independent verifications and contribute to following voluntary reviews:<br> - Book & claim projects.<br> - GHG emissions over one voyage or on a given period of time.<br> - Once qualified as per BV M&O procedures, support the review of SEEMPs and Monitoring Plans to<br> comply with Regulations like FuelEU Maritime or EU MRV.<br> - Interact with Subject Matter Experts worldwide to consolidate practical verification procedures and<br> control checks.<br> - Get in touch with worldwide BV M&O network involved in GHG emissions verification, both in head<br> office and in the zones.<br> - Contribute to the development of digital solutions (i.e. VeriSTAR GREEN) to support the efficient<br> verification of GHG emissions and the understanding of upcoming Regulations.<br> - Follow-up of Regulatory development pertaining to GHG emissions verification at IMO, EU and<br> Regional levels.<br> ➢ Roles & Responsibilities for HSE<br> - Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.<br> - To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal<br> requirements on HSE as applicable<br> - To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.<br> - Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSEi.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to</p> <p>Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.<br> ➢ Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs):<br> - Direct Objectives<br> o Internal MRV network and external entities (BV Certification France and UK) satisfaction<br> o Compliance with defined processes and operating instructions<br> o Quality of information and assistance provided to BV MRV network and external entities<br> -<br> ➢ Specific work conditions:<br> - Working hours to liaise with Head Office colleagues in Paris, France.<br> - Flexible to travel abroad for meetings and training sessions.<br> ➢ Skills & Qualities:<br> - Thoroughness and rigor (detail oriented), no difficulty with numbers.<br> - Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, excellent communication skills with high level of<br> English proficiency, both written and verbal.<br> - Excellent analytical skills.<br> - Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.<br> - Ability to work independently, problem solving, planning and decision-making mindset.<br> - Interest in and sense of business development, ability to roll-out a major project in phases over several<br> years<br> - Intrinsic task Master able to work in a fast-paced environment with ever increasing project loads.<br> - Willingness to be involved in innovative-related topics in relation with environmental protection.</p>
