When you work for Texas Materials, you are helping to support and build the infrastructure of Texas.</span></p> <p> </p><p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Position Overview</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">This is a management position requiring the employee to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Grading Crew.</span></p> <div> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)</strong></span></p> </div> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Coordinating, planning, and supervising grading crews to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Operating equipment to perform rough grade, finish grade, slope work and other excavating operations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Inspect equipment prior to use and at the end of the shift.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Inform the Superintendent of all construction needs (material, equipment, and staffing) promptly to avoid delays.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Inspect all grading work throughout the construction process to ensure it meets specifications.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· The ability to operate other types of equipment is preferred.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Regular and timely attendance</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Motor grader experience preferred</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Frontline safety responsibilities and management for the crew and the jobsite</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Qualifications</span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Education/Experience</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· 3-5 years’ experience in finish or fine grade operation with an excavator, motor grader, or related experience and training</span></p> <p>Knowledge of surveying and exposure to technical survey systems such as GPS and robotics.</p> <p> Oversee Grading Crews</p> <p> Travel around Austin and Central Texas area</p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge/Skill Requirements</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Ability to understand grade stakes.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual who will be a team player.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Must maintain good attendance and safety record.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Capability to read and understand project plans and specifications.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Valid Driver’s license required</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">· Travel may be required</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
