When you work for Texas Materials, you are helping to support and build the infrastructure of Texas. <div> <h2>Position Summary</h2> Texas Materials is seeking a safety-focused and dependable CDL Driver to transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from company facilities, jobsites, and customer locations. The CDL Driver plays a critical role in supporting our operations by ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining equipment, and upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. <h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Safely operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, water trucks, or other assigned equipment.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Transport aggregates, asphalt, construction materials, and related products to jobsites and customer locations.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, company, and customer safety regulations and policies.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Complete driver logs, inspection reports, delivery tickets, and other required documentation accurately and timely.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Secure loads and verify cargo is properly loaded and transported according to regulations.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and jobsite personnel regarding schedules, deliveries, and operational needs.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Assist with loading, unloading, and other operational tasks as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Maintain a clean and professional appearance of vehicles and equipment.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Provide excellent customer service while representing Texas Materials in a professional manner.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <h3>Required</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), depending on equipment assignment.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company and insurance requirements.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Previous experience in construction, asphalt, aggregate, or heavy materials transportation.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Endorsements as required by business needs.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Experience operating dump trucks, lowboys, tankers, or other specialized construction equipment.</li> </ul> <h2>Physical Requirements</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to regularly climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the day.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.</li> </ul> <h2>Work Environment</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Construction sites, aggregate facilities, asphalt plants, and public roadways.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Exposure to moving machinery, traffic, dust, and varying weather conditions.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to company safety standards and policies.</li> </ul> </div> The statements included in this job description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
