<p>The Sizewell C Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.#SZCJobs</p><p> </p> <p> </p> <p style="text-align:center"><strong>Environmental Advisor (Sizewell C)</strong><br><strong>Mactech Engineering & Inspection</strong><br><strong>Sizewell C</strong></p> <p><br>Based in our Suffolk office, We are looking for a site based Environmental Advisor to join the Sizewell C Delivery Construction Team on one of the most exciting and challenging projects, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.</p> <p><br>As an Environmental Advisor you will be part of a team of environmental professionals supporting the Construction Delivery Team working to ensure that all environmental & sustainability aspects of the project are managed effectively. You will work collaboratively with our Tier 1 Partners across the project to drive environmental performance and ensure compliance with the various Regulatory Consents and Permits in place.</p> <p><br><strong>Principal Accountabilities</strong></p> <p><br>Undertaking site inspections of contractors' work areas and relaying observations and/or reporting environmental issues where necessary,<br>Provision of written and verbal advice on environment legislation, permits, and environmental planning constraints for all activities on site;<br>Reviewing of contractors' environmental management plans and RAMs, to ensure they are compliant with environmental regulations<br>Support for the self-assessment and internal audit of site activities to ensure compliance against applicable legislation, site processes and procedures and environmental best practice;<br>Supporting and leading on investigations of environmental incidents, including the provision of reports and recommended actions to prevent re-occurrence of incidents and;<br>Recognise contractual issues and escalate to the Environmental & Sustainability Manager in a risk proportional manner.</p> <p><br><strong>Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience</strong></p> <p><br>Experience in an Environmental Management role on a dynamic construction or industrial project (site based).<br>Detailed knowledge of environmental legislation in the UK relevant to construction or industrial installations, plus knowledge of the supporting guidance, reference notes, industry best practice<br>Awareness of the client/contractor relationship and legal responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.<br>Must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication/interpersonal and influencing skills.<br>Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in an environmental or related discipline.</p> <p><br>Experience of operating within an environmental management system (EMS) conforming to recognised standards (BS EN ISO14001:2004.</p><p> </p> <p>For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
