<p>The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.</p> <p style="text-align:center"><strong>Area Health & Safety Lead</strong><br><strong>Balfour Beatty</strong><br><strong>Hinkley Point C</strong></p> <p><br><strong>Main Duties:</strong></p> <p><br>Lead and promote a strong health and safety culture across your allocated area.<br>Support the Deputy Head of HSE in delivering Alliance HSE objectives and standards.<br>Manage and develop a team of HSE Advisors.<br>Provide expert guidance and support to construction teams throughout planning and delivery.<br>Monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.<br>Lead audits, investigations, reporting and assurance activities.<br>Ensure HSE data, KPIs, lessons learned and performance indicators are effectively managed and communicated.<br>Champion the HPC Way and contribute to the wider integrated HSESS team.</p> <p><br><strong>Essential Qualifications:</strong></p> <p><br>Chartered IOSH Member or working towards Chartership<br>NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)</p> <p><br><strong>Essential Experience & Skills:</strong></p> <p><br>Strong written and verbal communication skills<br>Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations<br>Experience communicating HSE standards and expectations across diverse teams<br>Experience working with regulators, including hosting and presenting during site visits<br>Proven experience leading and managing HSE teams<br>Experienced auditor with strong assurance and compliance knowledge<br>Ability to obtain security clearance</p> <p><br><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <p><br>Experience in a similar HSE leadership role within construction, engineering or the nuclear sector<br>Understanding of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions<br>Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Scaffolding and Coatings activities<br>Level 3 Award in Education & Training (PTLLS) or willingness to obtain<br>Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail</p><p> </p> <p>For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
