Join us as a <h1 class="job-title">Field Supervisor - New Installations & Modernizations </h1> <div id="jobcontent" style="width:100%"> <div class="custom-tasks"> <h4 style="font-size:14.0px">Your main responsibilities</h4> <div style="color:#706f6f;font-size:14.0px">The Field Supervisor – New Installations (NI) and Modernization (MOD) is responsible for the installation of new construction and modernization projects through conforming to customer and company requirements as related to quality improvements, safety, cost improvement and customer satisfaction in support of Branch objectives. They are responsibile for managing, coaching and training field employees as well as health and safety requirements. Safety and Supervision <ul> <li>Lead field employees through providing mentorship, guidance and constructive feedback to promote employee development</li> <li>Coach and persuade field employees on Schindler’s methods of safety, quality and productivity </li> <li>Identify training needs and deliver training (safety & technical) to field employees</li> <li>Monitor work of field employees from both a quantitative and qualitative point of view, including approval of time tickets and maintenance of vacation schedules</li> <li>Investigate employee incidents and near misses, and support early and safe return to work initiatives. Conduct regular safety observations and ensure correct usage of PPE.</li> </ul> Financial Management <ul> <li>Manage new installation and modernization work in area of responsibility within framework of financial budget</li> <li>Manage field technician manpower to maximize business results</li> </ul> Process and Quality Management <ul> <li>Monitor job completion check points and implement required corrective action in order to drive installation and modernization performance to BDP model and meet ISO standards</li> <li>Ensure each installation and modernization project meets Schindler employee and passenger safety and quality standards and all contract requirements as defined by customer</li> <li>Ensure compliance with requirements issued by local and government authorities</li> <li>Manage ongoing program of project field audit to assurance conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.</li> <li>Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling where such tooling would support productivity improvement</li> </ul> Customer Service and External Relations <ul> <li>Interpret customer concerns and mobilize the necessary internal resources in such a way that customer satisfaction is assured while costs are minimized</li> <li>Ensure customer needs or enquires are met in a prompt, professional manner by providing clear communications.</li> <li>Demonstrate to customers that they are receiving fair value for their expenditures</li> <li>Communicate with and influence business agents, inspectors, etc., in resolving disputes</li> <li>Maintain and manage pro-active relationships with Union business agent</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div class="custom-requirements"> <h4 style="font-size:14.0px">What you bring</h4> <div style="color:#706f6f;font-size:14.0px"><ul> <li>Post Secondary degree – preferably in Engineering or Project Management</li> <li>3-5 years in elevator industry or related experience, or a similar industry which includes the supervision of capital equipment installation</li> <li>Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems </li> <li>Ability to coach, mentor and guide team members</li> <li>Strong communication skills, organization skills and ability to work without supervision</li> <li>Self motivated team player with record of achieving results</li> <li>Work flexible hours as business demands</li> <li>Computer literacy – MS Word, Power Point, Excel, Project</li> </ul> Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, skills, and market conditions, as well as internal equity considerations, in alignment with our overall compensation practices. In addition to base pay, this role will be eligible for: Bonus Incentive Program This range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, incentive compensation, or benefits.
