Job summary

Care Navigator/Receptionist/Administrator-35 Hours per Week (Monday - Friday 8am - 3pm)

We are currently seeking a reliable and flexible individual to join our team as a Care Navigator/Receptionist/Administrator.

About the Role

This position offers a varied working week, combining reception duties with administrative support. The role includes:

Administrative Tasks:

Providing admin support to the triage/duty doctor.

Answering patient queries. Booking appointments.

Making referrals.

Scanning documents and opening post. General administrative duties as required.Holiday/Sickness cover for reception

Is adaptable and comfortable with a fluid schedule. Can be available to cover reception shifts at short notice. Has strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills. Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment.

About us

Parkside Group Practice is based in South Croydon, with a list size of 14,500 patients. The team consists of 4 partners, 7 salaried GPs, 2 Pharmacists, , 3 nurses and a administration team of 18 including a Business Manager and 2 Operations managers.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous experience in dealing with the public Reception experience

Desirable

Previous work experience at a GP Practice

Qualities / Attributes Essential

Ability to organise workload priorities. Ability to use own judgement and initiative when dealing with problems and enquiries. Good verbal and oral communication skills. Excellent telephone manner. Ability to communicate positively with patients and all members of the practice team and outside organisations. Ability to recognise, accept and adhere to the need for strict confidentiality. Good knowledge of English language and grammar. Ability to work independently, but also as a team member . Flexible and adaptable. Full driving licence.

Qualifications Essential

O level /GSCE Level qualifications in English & Maths or equivalent A demonstrable commitment to professional development

Desirable

A recognised IT qualification

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Good computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable

Experience of the EMIS Web System. Knowledge of DOCMAN.
