Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient-focused GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking and supportive team for up to five sessions per week.
This post is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover, with the potential for ongoing employment at the end of the contract, subject to practice needs.

About the Practice
Strand Medical Practice is a well-established and welcoming practice based in Goring-by-Sea, close to both the South Downs and the coast. Durrington train station is less than 200 metres away, and on-site parking is available.
We care for approximately 15,700 patients and have a Good CQC rating and excellent QOF achievement. We are also a member of the Cissbury Integrated Care Primary Care Network.
Our clinical team is led by four GP Partners and supported by Salaried GPs and a strong multidisciplinary team, including:
Advanced Nurse Practitioners Practice Nurses and HCAs Paramedics Pharmacy team Mental Health Practitioners Social Prescribers Supportive Reception and Administration teams
We use SystmOne and Kliniks AI-supported triage system to help streamline patient flow and ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate care.
All GPs receive a fair allocation of patients for continuity and administrative purposes, together with a fair allocation of Duty Doctor sessions. Duty sessions are supported by our wider multidisciplinary team.

The postholder will work as part of the Practices clinical team to deliver effective, patient-centred general medical services to the registered population.
The role will include:
Managing an appropriate clinical workload in line with the agreed number of sessions.
Participating in the Practices Duty Doctor rota and supporting the management of urgent and same-day patient demand.
Providing continuity of care through an allocated patient list and completing associated clinical administration.
Reviewing investigation results, correspondence, medication requests and clinical tasks within agreed timescales.
Making appropriate referrals and working closely with community, secondary care and multidisciplinary services.
Contributing to the management of long-term conditions, preventative care, screening and immunisation programmes.
Supporting the Practice in meeting QOF, enhanced service and contractual requirements.
Participating in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits, quality-improvement work and Practice development.
Maintaining professional knowledge through continuing professional development, appraisal and revalidation.
Following Practice policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, infection prevention, information governance, confidentiality and health and safety.
Working collaboratively with the Partners, clinical team and wider Practice staff to maintain a positive, supportive and effective working environment.
