Job summary
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a receptionist. Previous experience in General Practice is desirable (but not essential). However, if you do have experience, you may find this role easier if you had been in a patient facing role.
Main duties of the job
The role will be split between reception duties and administrative tasks including:
Meeting and greeting patients Answering telephone calls from patients Processing repeat prescription requests Dealing with queries from patients and other service providers, ie hospitals and pharmacies Processing online requests from patients (Patchs) Other administrative duties associated with patient careEssential Criteria:

About us
Health Partners At Violet Melchett are looking to expand our friendly team of receptionist/administrators within our busy 10,900 patient GP practice. Alongside traditional GP services we offer a range of community services and activities so your job will be busy and varied. You will be based mainly at our newly refurbished premises just off the Kings Road, Chelsea SW3 but may at times be required to work in our Earls Court site.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
Process personal, telephone and online requests for appointments
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Signpost patients to the correct service
Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
Clinically code data on Systm1 where appropriate
Photocopy documentation as required
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary
Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences
Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary
Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
As required support the pharmacy team in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

Experience working in customer service in a busy workplace

General practice or working healthcare
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
