Job summary
Burwell Surgery is a well-regarded dispensing and training village practice. Situated within easy reach of Cambridge and the A14. Burwell has plenty of facilities to serve the local residents and has a real sense of community. The premises offer plenty of on-site parking for staff.
We are looking to recruit a Dispensing Assistant to work 24.5 to 28.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
To play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner. Your attention to detail, knowledge of pharmacy operations, and dedication to patient care will contribute to the overall success of our dispensary.

We have excellent Admin, Nursing and Pharmacy Teams plus good access to a range of additional roles by working collaboratively with our PCN practices. As a Training practice we offer a range of training for both Medical Students and GP Registrars.

Responsibilities:
Assist with the dispensing of medications to patients
Prepare prescription orders accurately and efficiently
Label and package medications appropriately
Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
Provide excellent customer service to patients
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE or equivalent in both Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above. NVQ level 2 Dispensing Assistant
Experience Essential
Working within a pharmacy or dispensing setting.
Desirable
Systmone experience
Knowledge and Skills Essential
Good communicator. Well-organised, diligent, and attentive to detail. Ability to build strong working relationships. Self-motivated and able to prioritise. Works well as part of a team.
