Job title: Qualified Room Leader
Salary: £13.26 per hour
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: 12 per week
Working pattern: Monday - Thursday. 3pm-6pm.
We are looking for a passionate and creative Room Leader to join our after school club based at Cherry Garden Primary School. This is a permanent position and a fantastic opportunity to build a fun and rewarding career working with children.
As a member of the team, you will gain valuable experience assisting the delivering a wide range of engaging and participative childcare activities; working with children from ages 4 - 11. You’ll work alongside play assistants to ensure that children are offered varied and fun activities whilst attending the groups.
You should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be able to engage with children positively. It is important that you have an understanding of the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care; and demonstrable experience of providing and facilitating safe and creative play.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plan and deliver safe activities with groups of children from all class rangesEngage with children encouraging them to participate in activities to promote learning and social developmentSupport children on a 1:1 basis who have complex needs (if required)Encourage fair and caring behaviour among the childrenDirect unqualified play assistants Encourage independence and self-esteemEnsure safety and safeguarding procedures are adhered to ensure children are kept safeAssist with food preparation for serving breakfast and afterschool snacksIt is essential that you hold A Level 3 in Play Work and/ or Early years level 3 qualification, or an equivalent qualification.
