About this role
What we do Infrastructure Foundational Services (IFS) is a software organization within AWS under EC2 Infrastructure Services organization, that builds and maintains services that provision physical hardware, orchestrates host and rack management activities, tracks health of racks, enables automated RamDisk management, and vends data related to all physical and Hailstone hosts, rack devices (such as Top of Rack/TOR and Powershelves), rack locations, and the logical status for each device. Our customers use these services across all of AWS's data centers, local zones, transit centers, corporate locations, and fulfillment centers. We enable our customers to manage, test, and update these devices by building critical control systems. Why we need you At this scale we are constantly stretching the elasticity of the the cloud. You will work to deliver this end to end workflow and collaborate with your customers - including other developers, business partners, and infrastructure teams. You will work with other engineers who have a passion for learning new technology and making your customer's lives better. Key job responsibilities - Design and build highly available, regional and zonal services that operate at massive scale (millions of hosts, billions of API calls) - Own features end-to-end: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations - Develop modern Kotlin/Java/Python/TypeScript services spanning on-host agents, APIs and Web interfaces with measurable impact on availability and security - Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence - Work with a team of passionate engineers to deliver the next generation of infrastructure data and provisioning services
