Secure Tools Foundation (STF) is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join a team of highly skilled individuals working on initiatives in resource and application discovery within AmSec. Our product, Veritas, is a foundational service that discovers all the resources owned by Amazon and the interconnections between them. This knowledge is then used for several security initiatives like security reviews, threat modeling and detection, access control and incident response. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the foundational team that helps enable significant security objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, building, and scaling both our front-end framework and back-end APIs and services. You will think strategically and analytically about business and product challenges, and integrate compelling value propositions into software development. You will be working across the organization with engineers and leaders to drive product vision and lead technical implementation efforts. You will join a diverse team of product owners, software engineers, machine learning experts, data engineers and data scientists, working on a wide range of technical challenges across the full stack. Key job responsibilities As a key member of the engineering team, you will: Influence product strategy by defining product features, refining system architecture, and spearheading best practices that enable a quality product. Collaborate on software design reviews with senior engineers to ensure software is scalable, performant, and maintainable for the long term. Deliver high quality software that is secure, testable, maintainable, efficient, and has little to no defects. Focus on operational excellence including analyzing the overall health and performance of the system, such as the operational management of the graph database cluster, performance of our daily ETL and vended APIs. Partner with other Product and Engineering teams to evaluate and develop security services and infrastructure. A day in the life The average day is centered around designing and building features to enhance existing applications. Other elements of the day can include: · Working on ad-hoc requests and bug fixes · Participating in doc reviews with product managers and stakeholders · Supporting and delegating tickets while on-call · Team meetings and presentations/learning sessions
