Main challenge
Help define the visual quality and material identity of the game world through expressive, readable, and technically efficient textures and materials that support the visual identity of the game.
What it means on a daily basis
Create high-quality stylized textures and materials that match the project’s art direction and visual languageTranslate concept art into clear, readable, and visually appealing texture workBuild texture sets for characters, environments, and other game assets while respecting technical constraintsOptimize textures and materials for real-time performance and Unreal Engine integrationCreate reusable materials, tileables, trimsheets, atlases, and texture libraries that improve production efficiencyCollaborate with Art Direction, Concept, Modeling, Tech Art, Lighting, and VFX to solve artistic and technical challengesWhat success will look like

Strong portfolio demonstrating stylized texture work integrated into shipped-quality game assetsExcellent understanding of color, value, material readability, and real-time texturing workflowsStrong knowledge of Unreal Engine material workflows and optimization techniquesProficiency with Substance Painter, Photoshop, and at least one DCC package; Substance Designer is a plusSolid understanding of UVs, texel density, baking, tileables, trimsheets, atlases, and texture optimizationStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplinesWho you are
