About this role

As a Powertrain Test Engineer, you will join our Gaydon team to support our activities within the automotive engineering sector

You will support testing and validation of engine and electric drive unit (EDU) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and performance requirements. Working within a dynamic test environment, you will play a key role in troubleshooting, data analysis, and homologation activities.

Support engine and EDU/E-machine test cell activities and validation programmesInvestigate and resolve technical issues through structured problem-solving approachesConduct data analysis and support test result interpretationAssist in delivering testing aligned to regulatory and homologation requirements Required Skills:

Strong technical understanding of engine and EDU/E-machine test cells and equipmentKnowledge of engine and EDU/E-machine components, attributes, and control strategiesProficiency in ETAS INCA softwareProven experience in issue resolution and structured problem solvingFull UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty pointsRequired Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Experience working within powertrain testing or validation environmentsFamiliarity with automotive engineering processes and standardsDesirable Skills:

Experience delivering Type Approval tests for engines and EDU power systemsUnderstanding of UN ECE R85 and GB/T 18488 regulationsExperience with broader powertrain homologation requirementsProficiency with data analysis tools (e.g. Python, MATLAB, Concerto)Knowledge of FMEA, Six Sigma, 8D, or similar methodologies Why join us?
