About this role
Seeking an Project Engineer to come join our team in Broughton supporting a large‑scale manufacturing systems improvement programme involving SCADA upgrades, factory process optimisation, and LBIP‑aligned methodology. The work spans both remote engineering activity and onsite support within a high‑integrity production environment.

Engage with operational teams to understand SCADA and process requirementsReview documentation, archive system information, and define upgrade needsWrite specifications for IT‑related components, tooling, and jigsManage suppliers: raise POs, track progress, oversee technical deliverablesSupport commissioning and troubleshooting activities within factory environmentsCoordinate project actions, chase updates, and ensure corrective work is completedContribute to LBIP methodology and continuous improvement initiatives Required Skills:
SCADA systems experience — proven hands‑on work with industrial control or automation systemsManufacturing or industrial environment background — experience working within factory, production, or high‑integrity operational settingsTechnical specification writing — ability to produce clear, structured specs for tooling, jigs, IT components, or system changesSupplier coordination — raising POs, managing deliverables, and overseeing external technical workDocumentation review — confident analysing existing system documentation, archives, and process materialsCommissioning support capability — able to work onsite to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and support deploymentProject coordination skills — action tracking, stakeholder alignment, and driving tasks to completionStrong communication with operational teams — able to gather requirements directly from factory personnel and translate them into technical outputsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Industrial IT knowledge — understanding networks, servers, interfaces, and system architectureLBIP or structured methodology familiarity — experience with lean‑based or structured improvement approachesAutomation or controls background — exposure to PLCs, HMIs, or related systemsProcess optimisation experience — ability to identify inefficiencies and propose improvementsStakeholder management — confident engaging with operations, engineering, and suppliersProblem‑solving mindset — proactive, practical, and able to drive issues to closure Why join us?
