ALTEN Ltd is seeking a talented Software Engineer with LabVIEW experience to support the development of advanced electric propulsion technology for next-generation fully electric aircraft.

Location: BicesterOn Site: Hybrid (3days on site)Clearance: ClearableExperience Level: Junior to mid (2-3 years)Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using LabVIEW and other programming toolsContribute to both front-end (UI/UX interfaces) and back-end (core system logic, data processing) developmentSupport the design and development of software architectureCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware, systems, and test engineersDevelop test rigs, data acquisition systems, and automation toolsEnsure code quality through testing, validation, and documentationSupport integration and testing activities within a structured engineering environment Required Skills:
Proven experience with LabVIEW (essential)Strong background in software engineering principlesExperience in both front-end and back-end developmentKnowledge of control systems, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems is highly desirableFamiliarity with languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar is a plusExperience working in engineering, aerospace, automotive, or other high-tech industriesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaborativelyRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Proven hands-on experience with LabVIEW (essential)Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and best practicesExperience in both front-end and back-end developmentStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, engineering-driven environmentDesirable Skills:
Knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, or data acquisition systemsFamiliarity with Python, C/C++, or similar programming languagesExperience in aerospace, automotive, or other high-tech industriesExperience with electric motors, power electronics, or embedded systemsUnderstanding of real-time systems and hardware integrationKnowledge of verification & validation processesExposure to agile development methodologies Why join us?
