We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and detail oriented Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Cucina Restaurant. In this role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and the highest standards of Italian cuisine in every dish served.
Oversee and manage daily kitchen operationsEnsure all dishes are prepared and presented according to restaurant standards for quality, taste, authenticity, and presentationSupervise, train, and mentor kitchen team members, including junior staffOversee preparation for à la carte service, buffet, and special eventsMaintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in all kitchen areasControl food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper portioning and ingredient usageLead menu planning, recipe development, and innovation with a strong Italian culinary identityEnsure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards at all timesMonitor inventory levels, place orders, and ensure proper storage and stock rotation (FIFO)Take full responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of senior leadership Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within an Italian restaurant, fine dining establishment, or luxury hotelStrong expertise in authentic Italian cuisine, including pasta, risotto, sauces, and traditional cooking techniquesProven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environmentHighly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, consistency, and authenticityAbility to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchenCreative mindset with a passion for Italian culinary traditions and modern interpretationsSolid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP knowledge preferred)Strong communication and teamwork skillsFlexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
