About this role

Working Student - Automation Engineer Over 4 million merchants use our card readers to process payments in 34 countries. As we build a world where every business can thrive, we continually expand our range of products and services. We are a truly global fintech company, with 3000+ people from 93 nationalities spread across 22 offices on 4 continents.

As the People Tech team, our mission is to enable long-term scalability by fostering a data-informed culture through seamless systems and a people-centric employee experience. As our Product Engineer – Working Student, you will help shape how internal People products are built by rapidly exploring, testing, and validating new product experiences.

This role is perfect for a student or early-career professional who enjoys building frontend-heavy applications, experimenting with ideas, and turning concepts into tangible prototypes. You will work hands-on to explore different product directions, challenge assumptions, and help the team understand what to build.

What you'll do:

Rapidly iterate on product ideas in short cycles (days, not weeks)

Explore and compare different product directions through hands-on experimentation

Translate ideas and requirements into tangible prototypes that stakeholders can experience and evaluate

Work closely with Product Owners and domain experts to refine concepts and improve user experience

Document learnings and key insights from prototypes to inform product decisions

You'll be great for this role if:

You're curious, hands-on, and love learning new tools or finding besser ways to get things done.

You enjoy building frontend-heavy applications and turning ideas into working prototypes

You have experience with modern frontend tools (e.g. React, Next.js or similar)

You think in terms of user experience and product flows, not just technical implementation

You're comfortable working in ambiguity and exploring different approaches before settling on a solution

You communicate clearly and collaborate well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

Experience building internal tools or business applications

Experience with AI-assisted coding using tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, v0, Lovable or similar

Basic understanding of authentication (OAuth, SSO) and data handling concepts
