Summary of Position:
WaterBridge is seeking a skilled and field-driven Project Construction Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale water treatment and disposal facility. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day field-based deliverables, ensuring construction activities are executed in alignment with design intent, project schedule, and quality standards. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, the Project Construction Engineer serves as the primary on-the-ground technical resource, coordinating directly with contractors, subcontractors, and engineering firms to resolve field issues and drive construction progress.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary field representative for construction activities across civil, mechanical, and process scopes of the water treatment facility • Monitor and document daily construction progress, contractor performance, and site conditions • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with design intent and project requirements • Coordinate resolution of field conflicts, RFIs (Requests for Information), and design clarifications in collaboration with engineering firms • Conduct regular site walks and quality control inspections to verify work-in-place meets design and specification requirements • Track construction schedule milestones, identify delays or deviations, and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager with recommended corrective actions • Manage field documentation including daily reports, punch lists, material deliveries, and as-built markups • Coordinate contractor sequencing and site logistics to maintain safe and efficient construction operations • Support commissioning and startup activities, ensuring systems are installed and tested per project requirements • Enforce site safety standards and ensure all contractors adhere to applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline • Minimum 5–8 years of field construction experience on infrastructure, water treatment, or industrial facility projects • Hands-on experience with civil construction scope including earthwork, grading, site utilities, concrete structures, and piping systems • Familiarity with mechanical systems associated with water treatment facilities, including pumps, valves, tanks, and process equipment installation • Ability to read and interpret civil and mechanical construction drawings, specifications, and submittals • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and field change orders in coordination with engineering teams • Strong field documentation skills including daily reports, inspection logs, and as-built tracking • Working knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA) and ability to enforce a safe jobsite culture • Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation • Experience on water treatment, wastewater, or industrial process water facilities • Familiarity with commissioning and startup procedures for mechanical and process systems • Experience on greenfield or first-of-kind industrial facility projects • OSHA 30-hour certification
