Team Summary Within VCA, the Digital Practice focuses on helping clients innovate, transform, and thrive in an increasingly digital world. Our team partners with leading organizations to define digital strategies, modernize customer experiences, leverage data and AI, accelerate product innovation, and execute large-scale transformation programs.
The team works at the intersection of business strategy, payments innovation, data, and technology, leveraging Visa’s unique network insights, global scale, and industry expertise.
We help clients address opportunities across AI & Data Transformation, Technology Modernization, Digital Product & Experience, and Digital Strategy & Growth, including the adoption of Generative AI and emerging technologies. What a Digital Consulting Director does at Visa:
• As a Director, you will lead consulting engagements across a broad range of digital, data, and technology topics that are complex in scale, highly visible, and critical to client success.
• The Digital Practice focuses on four strategic areas:
• AI & Data Transformation
• Technology Modernization
• Digital Product & Experience
• Digital Strategy & Growth
• You will lead teams of typically 3–5 consultants, taking ownership of project delivery, client relationships, and business outcomes.
• You will gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop actionable recommendations that address key client challenges.
• You will work closely with Visa stakeholders, clients, and industry partners to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and transformation.
• You will partner closely with clients in Japan while collaborating with regional and global Visa teams to bring international best practices, innovation, and expertise to the market.
• You will own and identify information sources, gather and interpret data, and translate analytics and AI-driven insights into meaningful business recommendations.
• You will advise clients on technology modernization initiatives including platform transformation, API enablement, cloud adoption, and integration of emerging technologies.
• You will support clients in defining digital, data, and AI transformation roadmaps and help drive implementation of strategic initiatives.
• You will help clients identify, prioritize, and scale GenAI and AI-driven business transformation opportunities that deliver measurable business value.
• You will present project findings and recommendations to client executives and senior Visa stakeholders.
• As a Director, you will lead business development activities, including opportunity origination, proposal development, account growth, and executive client relationship management.
• You will contribute to Practice growth through thought leadership, intellectual property development, capability building, and innovation initiatives.
• You will contribute to Practice revenue growth through opportunity generation, expansion of client relationships, and successful delivery of consulting engagements.
• You will coach, mentor, and develop consultants while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD • MBA or advanced degree preferred. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. • 12+ years of experience in management consulting, digital consulting, technology consulting, product strategy, transformation leadership, or related fields, with demonstrated experience leading client engagements and business development activities. • Demonstrated success leading large-scale digital, technology, data, or business transformation initiatives. • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with structured thinking and hypothesis-driven approaches. • Excellent verbal, written, and executive presentation skills. • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities, with proven success engaging senior executives and influencing strategic decision making. • Proven ability to influence senior executives, shape strategic agendas, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. • Demonstrated experience contributing to business development, proposal creation, account growth, or commercial strategy initiatives. • Experience leading cross-functional, cross-regional, and multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed environment. • Strong commercial acumen with experience developing business cases and evaluating business impact. • Self-starter with strong ownership and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. • Fluent Japanese and business-level English proficiency. • Experience within leading management consulting firms, digital consultancies, technology companies, financial institutions, fintech's, payment organizations, or related technology ecosystems. • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: • AI Strategy, Transformation, and Generative AI Enablement • Data, Analytics, and AI-Driven Decisioning • Digital Product Management • Customer Experience Design • Technology Transformation, Platform Modernization, Cloud, and API Enablement • Digital Growth Strategy and Customer Engagement • Enterprise PMO, Large-Scale Transformation, and Change Management
• Experience working within payments, banking, financial services, fintech, digital commerce, platform businesses, or related technology ecosystems. • Experience developing and implementing AI, Generative AI, analytics, automation, or digital innovation initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes. • Experience managing complex client engagements involving C-suite and senior executive stakeholders. • Experience collaborating across regional and global organizations and navigating complex stakeholder environments. • Passion for emerging technologies, innovation, and continuous learning.
