Valmont’s Internal Audit team provides valuable insight into Valmont’s global operations and strategic initiatives. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with leaders across the organization, develop deep business knowledge, and build a strong foundation for future career growth within finance, accounting, or operations.

The Intermediate Auditor supports the execution of SOX compliance and risk-based internal audits across U.S. and select global operations. Reporting to the Audit Manager, this role is responsible for executing audit procedures, documenting processes and controls, evaluating design and operating effectiveness, and communicating results clearly.

This position collaborates closely with stakeholders across Corporate Accounting, Controllership, and operational teams to support the company’s annual internal audit plan and promote effective risk management and governance practices. This position provides exposure to a wide range of business functions and global operations.

Essential Functions:

· Participate in audit planning activities, including risk assessment and scope development. · Coordinate information requests with Corporate Accounting, Controllership, and operational stakeholders. · Execute SOX and operational audit procedures, including walkthroughs, control testing, and evaluation of results. · Independently document processes, risks, and control design in a clear and supportable manner. · Prepare clear, organized, and well-documented audit workpapers supporting audit conclusions. · Analyze testing results to identify control deficiencies, process gaps, and improvement opportunities. · Draft clear, concise audit findings and practical recommendations to strengthen internal controls and operational processes. · Support remediation efforts by tracking and validating corrective actions. · Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and promote awareness of internal control best practices.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. · 3+ years of relevant audit experience, preferably in public accounting or internal audit. · Foundational understanding of SOX compliance, ICFR, and the COSO framework. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. · Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software tools. · Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-20%.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

· Progress toward CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification · Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. · Experience performing SOX testing or working in a controls-focused environment. · Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting environments. · Experience auditing manufacturing or global operations environments.
