About This Opportunity Join a visionary and collaborative research environment at The University of Queensland’s Institute of Molecular Biosciences, where you will contribute to globally relevant discoveries that shape our understanding of vascular biology.
Working within the Vessel Integrity Group led by A/Prof Anne Lagendijk, this role will focus on uncovering the cellular mechanisms that control blood vessel integrity during embryonic development and disease, using innovative zebrafish and human cell models. You will be part of a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing team committed to creating change together through impactful research.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading zebrafish xenograft experimentation and driving cutting-edge experimental design and delivery. • Producing high-quality research outputs, including publications in leading journals and contributions to grant funding applications. • Supporting the development of research projects through collaborative, intellectual, and technical contribution to team members and partners. • Contributing to supervision and researcher development while fostering an inclusive and collegial research environment.
This is a full-time fixed-term position through to end of 2026 at Academic Level A.
About You
• Completion of a PhD in cell, developmental, cardiovascular biology, or a closely related discipline. • Demonstrated experience in zebrafish xenografting approaches. • An emerging research profile with evidence of publications in reputable refereed journals. • Track record of presenting research findings at conferences or similar scholarly forums. • Experience with advanced microscopy techniques and image analysis. • Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture. • Demonstrated contribution to service roles or external academic activities such as peer review or conference organisation.
