Working within a high-production manufacturing environment, the Laser Trim Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laser trimming equipment used to manufacture electronic components to precise specifications. This position ensures products meet quality standards while supporting production efficiency, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Laser Trim Operator works independently on moderately complex assignments, applying broad knowledge of manufacturing processes while adhering to all safety, quality, and production requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laser trimming equipment according to work instructions and production schedules.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work orders, specifications, and process documentation.
• Perform precision laser trimming operations to meet required dimensional and electrical tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
• Inspect finished products using measuring and testing equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Accurately record production data, inspection results, equipment settings, and process information.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues to Engineering or Maintenance as needed.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards, operating procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Follow all safety policies, including proper operation of laser equipment and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing or process issues.
• Support continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, quality, and manufacturing processes.
• May provide guidance or informal leadership to team members during routine production activities.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) or more years of manufacturing, machine operation, laser equipment, or related production experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work requiring precise measurements and tolerances.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Basic computer skills for production reporting and equipment interface operation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, printed circuit board (PCB), semiconductor, medical device, or other precision manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
