Role Overview

The Product Owner is responsible for representing Credit Technology across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring technology delivery remains closely aligned to business priorities, operational needs, and strategic objectives. Acting as the primary regional representative for Credit Technology, the role combines Product Ownership, Business Analysis, and Delivery Leadership responsibilities. Working closely with brokers, desk heads, operations, technology teams, and global stakeholders, the Product Owner drives adoption of strategic platforms, supports regional initiatives, manages priorities, and ensures successful delivery of business outcomes across multiple locations including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney. The role will serve as the central coordination point for APAC initiatives, platform migrations, strategic programmes, and day-to-day business engagement. The Product Owner will be expected to independently investigate business and technology issues, translate complex requirements into actionable deliverables, coordinate regional change initiatives, and ensure successful delivery of strategic priorities. While the role has primary responsibility for supporting the APAC business, it will also contribute to global Credit Technology initiatives, helping shape platform improvements, release planning, operating model enhancements, and transformation activities across the broader organisation. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to operate effectively across business and technology domains. The successful candidate will act as the voice of APAC within the global Credit Technology organisation while ensuring regional priorities are effectively represented and delivered.

Role Responsibilities Product Ownership

• Own and prioritise the APAC Credit Technology backlog, ensuring delivery aligns with business priorities and measurable outcomes. • Translate business requirements, operational challenges, and strategic objectives into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery objectives. • Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams to align delivery with product roadmaps and strategic goals. • Support Agile delivery teams through backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritisation, and requirement clarification. • Review delivered functionality and validate that business objectives have been achieved. • Support adoption of new capabilities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Maintain close alignment between business priorities and technology delivery.

Regional Business Engagement

• Act as the primary Credit Technology representative for APAC business stakeholders. • Build trusted relationships with brokers, desk heads, operations teams, and regional management. • Maintain a deep understanding of regional workflows, priorities, challenges, and opportunities. • Gather user feedback and identify opportunities to improve business processes and platform capabilities. • Represent APAC priorities within global product and planning discussions. • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and business reviews across the region.

Business Analysis & Investigation

• Lead requirements gathering, impact assessments, and solution definition activities. • Analyse business processes, trade lifecycle workflows, and technology interactions. • Investigate production issues, user requests, operational challenges, and platform behaviour. • Work closely with development, support, infrastructure, and business teams to identify root causes and remediation options. • Document requirements, workflows, business processes, impact assessments, and operating procedures. • Assess downstream impacts across front-office, operational, and post-trade workflows. • Support incident reviews and identify opportunities to improve platform stability and operational efficiency.

Delivery Coordination

• Coordinate regional technology deliveries, platform migrations, and strategic initiatives. • Support planning and execution of APAC programmes, ensuring dependencies, milestones, and risks are actively managed. • Facilitate alignment between business, operations, and technology teams throughout delivery lifecycles. • Coordinate testing, business readiness, training, and go-live activities. • Provide regular status updates to regional and global stakeholders. • Assist in release planning and deployment readiness activities.

Global Initiatives & Transformation

• Contribute to global Credit Technology initiatives and transformation programmes. • Support cross-regional product and delivery activities. • Assist with release planning, prioritisation, and dependency management across teams. • Participate in platform migration, modernisation, and process improvement initiatives. • Support post-release reviews, incident analysis, and continuous improvement activities. • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, platform adoption, and operational effectiveness. • Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure consistency of processes and solutions across regions.

Operational Support

• Support business-facing activities for strategic Credit Technology platforms. • Assist with production issue management and cross-functional investigations. • Ensure regional operational requirements are understood and incorporated into delivery plans. • Help identify and mitigate operational risks. • Support successful transition of new capabilities into business-as-usual operations.

Experience / Competencies

Essential

• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Delivery Coordinator, or similar role within financial services technology. • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working directly with front-office business users. • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of outcomes. • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities. • Experience translating business requirements into actionable delivery outcomes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to navigate complex organisations and influence across teams. • Experience working across geographically distributed teams and multiple time zones. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. • Experience supporting Agile delivery environments. • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools. • Understanding of front-to-back trading workflows, operational processes, or enterprise business systems.

Desired

• Experience supporting Credit trading businesses including Bonds, CDS, Indices, or related products. • Understanding of electronic trading and post-trade processing workflows. • Experience supporting platform migrations, transformation programmes, or technology modernisation initiatives. • Familiarity with FIX protocol, APIs, messaging technologies, and system integrations. • Experience coordinating regional or global delivery initiatives. • Understanding of cloud-based platforms and modern technology architectures. • Exposure to release planning and software delivery lifecycle processes. • Experience producing executive-level reporting and stakeholder communications. • Familiarity with SAFe and scaled Agile delivery models.
