We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant based in Bayan Lepas, Penang to join our Finance team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process supplier invoices accurately and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
• Verify invoices, obtain the necessary approvals, and post transactions in a timely manner.
• Process supplier payments in accordance with agreed payment terms and schedules.
• Investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and vendor account discrepancies promptly.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to ensure account accuracy.
• Reconcile Accounts Payable balances with the General Ledger and support month-end closing activities.
• Prepare AP ageing reports and provide accurate reporting to support financial operations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve Accounts Payable enquiries and payment-related issues.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
• Ensure all Accounts Payable activities are completed within established KPIs, SLAs, and internal control requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, payment processing, and Accounts Payable principles.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is highly advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak Mandarin fluently to support China-based vendors and stakeholders.
• Experience working in a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or multinational environment is an advantage.
