Job Description Essential Job Functions:
• Plan and direct short term (shift, day, and weekly) production functions to meet schedule, quality and cost goals. • Analyze production requirements and problems to implement corrective action in terms of manpower scheduling, equipment needs, and technical problems. • Provide planning input to the longer term planning functions based on performance, staffing, and equipment availability. • Review and analyze cost and schedule data of various operations to monitor performance/productivity and implement improvement plans as required. • Monitor and control overhead spending to work within approved plant operating budgets. • Enforce work rules and practices in a fair manner to staff and hourly workforce. • Provide input on methods to improve productivity through equipment acquisition, better methods of assembly, and overhead reductions. • Ensure employee skills are assessed as needed and create Personnel skills development plans and performance appraisals of all staff. • Interact with other departments when necessary to ensure proper system function. • Comply with all safety standards and regulations. • Delegate work to subordinates when necessary to ensure efficiency and timely completion of all tasks. • Complete necessary documentation and file appropriately. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management preferred or HS Diploma or GED equivalent and related experience in manufacturing and production supervision. • At least five years of production and/or supervisory experience. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Strong proficiency in MS Office - specifically MS Word and Excel. • Flexible Schedule – Ability to work OT when needed.
