Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, COO Finance, this role will act as the Senior Finance Analyst, supporting DSIP and SC&OE. In this role you will become a subject matter expert providing value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners make data driven decisions, to develop and execute strategic plans and goals or respond to ad hoc requests for business analysis. Reporting of results will include the delivery of monthly/quarterly management reporting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and key performance metrics.
The DSIP and SC&OE Finance team is responsible for financially supporting key mandates, such as Digital Strategy, Innovation & Designs, Enterprise Payments, Governance & Control, Change Management, Productivity and Simplification and Digitization & Automation. Value added deliverables includes analysis, reporting, strategic advice, and decision support to COO Finance as follows:
• Leadership resulting in achievement of financial and operational objectives.
• Develop, manage, and deliver an effective performance management framework for COO, focused on key (industry standard) cost drivers, metrics, financial governance, and standards.
• Deliver financial reporting of results and trends, including operational and strategic advice and recommendations.
• Develop, implement, and communicate effective processes for expense management.
• Support and guide decisions on technology investments and organization transformation initiatives
The successful candidate is a self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and can adapt to changing business needs and one who offers working solutions to business partners/peers/management with a focus on continuous process improvement and customer service.
The candidate will be required to be independent and organized with strong technical skills, good business acumen and demonstrated problem solving, reporting and data management capabilities.
Finance Accountabilities:
• Be a valued business partner by building strong partnership with DSIP and SC&OE business leaders and teams, understanding strategic goals, and effectively linking into value added financial analysis and monthly results
• Develop, refresh and present monthly/quarterly reporting, Productivity reporting, annual Plan and Forecasting views to support business decision making in a timely and accurate manner, including cost allocation model
• Identify opportunities to build meaningful financial analysis and provide value add to business partners
• Collaborate with Finance colleagues and businesses to understand change drivers
• Build reporting to track both financial and non-financial metrics against targets for numerous complex initiatives
• Enhance activities and implement effective innovative solutions, including automation, where there is an opportunity to gain efficiencies through process improvement
• Act as subject matter expert (trusted matter expert) for own area and provide guidance / advice and recommendations to support interactions with internal / external partners
• Understand and work towards a shared Finance vision and promote and foster a positive work environment that encourages productivity, professionalism, and teamwork
• Provide thought leadership on data governance strategies to improve the management of date and ensure consistent use across businesses
• Support with any ad-hoc queries, and business casing as required
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
• Undergraduate degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Accounting designation preferred
Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
