Position Information We are seeking a motivated and collaborative postdoctoral research associate to join our research program at Texas A&M University to investigate the impact of biotic and environmental factors on the reproductive and overall health of honey bees (Apis mellifera), with a focus on uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying these interactions. The main project investigator, Dr. Juliana Rangel (https://entomology.tamu.edu/people/rangel-juliana/), is based in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX. This position involves close collaboration with co-principal investigators of Drs. Erick Motta (https://people.tamu.edu/~erick.motta/) and Nancy Ing (https://animalscience.tamu.edu/people/ing-nancy/), also at Texas A&M University.

Responsibilities: • Design and conduct experiments with honey bees and associated parasites and pathogens • Use molecular biology, microbiology, and omics-based approaches to study host-microbe-pathogen interactions • Analyze microbiome and transcriptomic datasets • Maintain detailed laboratory records and contribute to scientific publications • Work closely with other researchers in a collaborative environment • Assist with colony maintenance and routine laboratory and apiary tasks

Required Qualifications: PhD in Entomology

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong background in molecular biology and microbiology • Familiarity with bioinformatic tools for omics data analysis • Demonstrated ability to write and publish first-author peer-reviewed manuscripts • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills • Attention to detail and commitment to laboratory safety • Ability to handle and lift laboratory and beekeeping equipment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Experience with honey bee biology and/or beekeeping practices • Previous mentoring of undergraduate and/or graduate students • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaboration across departments and facilities.
