Job Description: Business Unit Leader – Imaginet UK
COMPANY: Imaginet is a specialist provider of digital solutions, delivering web, CMS, and application development services to a portfolio of enterprise and mid-market customers. POSITION: The Business Unit Leader role offers both autonomy and scope for growth and support for this will be provided by senior functional leaders in the group. In particular, working closely with the Group Leader/Portfolio Manager, the purpose of this role is to plan, direct and manage the performance of the Business Unit(s) as dictated by the overall strategy to maintain and develop business growth. In this key role, you will ensure that Business Unit(s) goals are met in a timely fashion by efficiently and effectively managing personnel and resources, working closely with a very established and knowledgeable team. The post requires strong multi-tasking, organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
The Business Unit Leader will focus on Imaginet with potential for additional Business Units in the future. Working with leadership teams, the successful candidate will drive long-term value creation while maintaining entrepreneurial culture, customer intimacy and disciplined operating principles that characterise successful Vesta Software Group businesses. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Business Unit Leader will report to a Group Leader/Portfolio Manager and will be responsible for:
• The financial and resource planning for all aspects of Imaginet and potential future Business Units.
• Ensuring the business is financially sound, well managed, and achieves key targets utilizing the best practise from within the group.
• Directing and managing employees and resources to meet business objectives, within budget.
• Overseeing the welfare and development of all employees.
• Developing, motivating and empowering a dedicated and experienced management team to deliver excellent results.
• Developing the product strategy and ensuring delivery against a published roadmap.
• Ensuring a high standard of work and customer service.
• Building relationships with industry partners and alliances, principally across the UK.
• Implementing risk management policies to address strategic, operational and legislative compliance risks.
• Ensuring company directives and reporting are executed successfully, and company policies and procedures are adhered to and are in line with current legislation and regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Leadership:
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and lead the organisation through and alongside the management team.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan and coordinate a range of business functions across different teams within a software business.
• Sound planning skills and the ability to contribute to and influence strategic direction and vision.
• Excellent decision-making skills and an analytical approach to problem solving. A collaborative leader with a willingness to actively work on customer accounts and problem solving alongside any member of the team.
Sales and Marketing:
• A proven track record growing a business by developing and implementing successful sales initiatives.
• Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with a broad range of clients from small businesses through to major enterprise chains.
• Proven track record in selling to corporate businesses, Local Authorities and Universities.
• The ability to resolve high-level, complex customer complaints in a diplomatic and professional manner.
• A proven customer focus and extensive experience in a client service or sales environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to form real connections with people from diverse professional backgrounds – from interns through to CEOs.
Financial Results:
• Experience in financial management and establishing controls and balances to minimise financial risk.
• Proven track record in meeting and/or exceeding revenue and profit targets v forecasts.
• Experience designing and managing bonus, commissions and reward schemes.
General:
• Experience in developing, implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures.
• The ability to support the executive team to make informed decisions on behalf of shareholders.
• Knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual obligations.
• Contract negotiations and frameworks with both suppliers and customers.
• A degree or equivalent in a relevant management, business and/or information technology discipline, or comparable work experience.
• Senior Management experience and an established profile within the UK Transportation software industry is highly desirable.
Your Personal Characteristics will include:
• Thrive in a results driven background and be comfortable with financial and performance measurement.
• Have a detailed understanding of the measurements and metrics used to drive a successful CSI/Vesta Group company.
• Have at proven experience as a Business Leader or Senior Manager within a software business/across multiple business.

• Have proven experience of managing multiple conflicting priorities to meet strategic deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Have exceptional communication skills delivering clearly and confidently, both in person and in writing.

• Have excellent attention to detail.
