About the role

• Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) is a 6-bed ward where crisis interventions are delivered for a period of up to 72 hours.

• Consumers of PECC are often in acute crisis, requiring a safe space to regulate and time to link to other services.

• PECC is a specialised ward which is staffed with two mental health registered nurses working alongside a Psychiatry Consutant, Registrar, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Peer Support Workers, Social Work, Aboriginal Health Workers and Homeless Health.

• Working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the consumer and their family members.

About you

• Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

• Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.

• Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

• Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
