What you will do:
• Design, develop, and maintain complex C++/Python applications for Linux and Windows systems in a regulated medical device environment.
• Define robust software architecture and system design (including UML-based modeling) and provide well-founded development effort estimations.
• Implement, extend, and integrate software modules and system interfaces, ensuring scalable and high-quality solutions.
• Document development work in accordance with software engineering best practices, ensuring traceability and compliance readiness.
• Plan, execute, and document verification and validation (V&V) activities with a strong focus on quality assurance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate work packages to ensure smooth execution across teams and stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and support team members, contributing to continuous improvement of development processes.
• Contribute to software infrastructure and DevOps initiatives, including defining scalable Git repository structures and coordinating code migration.
• Drive build system modernization, including migration from QBS to CMake-based environments.
• Design and implement Docker-based development and build environments.
• Set up, run, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab, including supporting migration to GitLab pipelines.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technical Informatics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Strong programming expertise in C++ and Python, with experience building applications for Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented design, software architecture, and system design.
• Proven ability to understand business/technical requirements and translate them into structured deliverables and implementation plans.
• Experience designing, documenting, and implementing scalable software systems.
• Hands-on experience with build systems (CMake) and migration from legacy environments such as QBS.
• Working knowledge of C# and multi-language development environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and version control systems (Git).
• Experience working in an Agile development environment with sprint-based delivery models.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of AI tools and modern development productivity tools (e.g., AI-assisted coding, testing, debugging).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a regulated or medical device software environment.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), verification & validation processes, and compliance standards.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab pipelines.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and technical leadership capabilities.
