The role will report to Project Engineering Manager within the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Technical Professional Organization (TPO), as well as, to the Senior Project Manager of any project where he will be assigned to work on. Projects are located in different areas within the province of Ontario and potentially Canada. Site engineer will interact with project Owner, engineering team, site team members as well as other stakeholders.
Your role
• Represent the client onsite and inspect electrical utility construction, installation, and testing work performed by contractors. Ensure all work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project plans. • Monitor contractor compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements. • Maintain daily site reports, including photos, and track construction progress against the schedule. • Report safety incidents, hazards, and non-compliance issues to the client. • Identify construction deficiencies and support the issuance and management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Maintain and track deficiency lists and ensure corrective actions are completed. • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and witness key construction and testing activities. • Prepare weekly reports summarizing site activities, quality, environmental, and safety compliance. Support lessons learned reviews and contractor performance evaluations.
About you
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada (PEO) with Minimum 15 years of experience in transmission and distribution projects, including substations and transmission lines. • Experience acting as an Owner’s Representative during construction projects, and proven experience performing construction inspections, quality assurance, and quality control activities. • Strong understanding of Ontario utility construction practices and regulations, and ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and strong attention to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. • Willingness to work outdoors year-round and accommodate occasional night or weekend work.

Additional information Expected compensation for this role is between $100,200 - $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
