The Commodity Specialist will be responsible for sourcing excellence and cost reduction opportunities with a strategic mindset and approach. They will have high visibility and growth potential In-Direct Procurement role working on global commodities with key stakeholders including those at the highest levels in the company.
General Responsibilities • Leads the collaboration with functional areas to populate sourcing events, making decisions on sourcing event structure, supplier pool, selection criteria and event outcome criteria • Advises on the activities as required cross-functionally, including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal and Manufacturing • Leads the continuous development of the Procurement function towards the best practices • Leads collaborations to promote the lowest total cost of ownership sourcing solutions/value proposition for assigned commodities • Advises on the delivering of corporate aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic vision • Advises on implementing communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers • Leads supplier risk assessments, risk management and disaster recovery planning
Experience / Qualifications • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
POSITION SUMMARY As Senior Electronics Sourcing Expert, you will be the corporate expert for assigned EMA commodities, leading the development and execution of the Global EMA category strategy in collaboration with DE, COE, PMT, SQE, and BU leaders. You will manage RFQs, negotiate contracts (including T&Cs), and align with Global BU leadership on tactical and transactional execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for EMA and electronic components to support business objectives, cost savings, and supply continuity; • Manage strategic supplier relationships, including selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement; • Conduct market analysis on industry trends, pricing, lead times, and supply risks; • Lead cost reduction and VAVE projects while managing annual spending; • Collaborate with Engineering, PM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality to support NPI, supplier qualifications, and operational requirements; • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and capacity expansion; • Consolidate cost reduction forecasts for annual planning and monthly/quarterly financial updates.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering + 8 years of experience, or Master's degree + 5 years; • Minimum 1 year of practical experience in process engineering cost analysis for EMA or ASIC; • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in electronics category management; • Working knowledge of cost estimating methods: bottoms-up, analogous, three-point, parametric, factor, equipment factor, etc.; • Proven strong negotiation skills with strategic thinking; • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentations; • Demonstrated independent problem-solving and result-driven performance; • High ethical standards and integrity; • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills across all organizational levels, including suppliers and external customers; • Team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
