This position starts out paying $18.21/hr (Step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for growth and development. • Operate a grapple truck for the tree crew to remove debris.

• Transport and operate tractors and skid steers to remove large tree and landscape debris.

• Operate bushhogs, zero-turn and 11’ rotary mowers to mow areas in Parks, Beaches, and other County-owned and maintained properties.

• Use of handheld tools in accomplishing daily tasks and debris removal at various park locations. Tools to include string trimmer, blower, rake, shovel, etc.

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment that is used in accordance with maintenance standards. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.

• Complete assigned work orders productively and professionally. Use various Microsoft and other software applications to complete other related duties.

About the Schedule Work Hours:

• Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

• Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

• As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

About You Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent AND one (1) year of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of one or more pieces of the equipment described herein.

• Must have a valid Florida Class A CDL. This position will require a pre-employment substance screening.

• Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.

About Everything Else Starting Pay Range: $18.21 (Step 1)
