Summary Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in a quality timely manner throughout the health system.
Job Description Responsible for assisting with supply and instrument needs. Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors, notify management, and follow-up according to procedure or instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Fifteen months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills.
Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.
