About this role
What we do: The technology LatAm Fleet in Brazil is responsible for developing modern solutions using latest technologies available. We're a global team, with technologists located in different cities of the world : Sao Paulo, Montreal, New York, London and many others! Our team in Sao Paulo is composed by two Squads with Developers and Analysts that are responsible of developing and maintaining applications that supports the Morgan Stanley brokerage locally (we're ranked Top 3 broker in B3 Bovespa); plus a diverse set Banking products.
Role: Java Developer with experience designing and developing solutions with performance and capacity as a focus. Any knowledge about the Brazilian market and middle-back office is a plus.
We work under Agile principles - we're a pretty flat organization; best idea wins!
Candidate should be able to: - Participate on full project life cycle phases - i.e. requirements, analysis, development, tests and implementation - Work with key business unit managers to gather requirements and document business requirements for new functionality and modifications to existing applications. Understand business background and rationale - Communicate effectively with clients; help them making decisions in-line with Firm' strategy. - Consider performance, capacity and resource consumption while designing/proposing solutions - Be able to design solutions and define overall architecture with local team - Hands on development for back-end services and (any GUI experience is a plus) Qualifications: Skills Required: - Advanced English - Strong communication skills ; effective communication among technical and non-technical audience - Relevant experience n-tiered application with a relational database back-end in a distributed manner - Strong OO design skills; familiarity with design patterns - Java/Spring boot background - Relevant Relational databases design and implementation experience - Basic Linux experience - Willing to expand business knowledge and Firm's standards application
Technical Skills desired/optional: - Experience in other OO languages - i.e. C++, C# - Cloud Solutions - Relational DB's - Sybase/SQL SERVER /DB2 and SQL scripting - Python/Perl/Unix Shell Script languages - FIX Protocol WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:
