SUMMARY Responsible for all operations of the Materials departments. Manages and develops the team for planning for production and suppliers, the Warehouse, Customer Service, Engineering Change Coordinator and Logistics Analyst for the Cherokee locations. This function is responsible for balancing inventory, freight costs and SCM employee costs versus customer delivery performance for the local plant. For new business, in the industrialization process this function takes responsibility for the implementation of the in- and outbound material flow, using standard packaging standards and prepares the data in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system INFOR LN. This functions manages local SCM KPI’s and initiates saving and improvement projects aimed at continuous improvement of quality, safety, costs and delivery performance in the area of planning, material handling and warehouse operations, transportation, customers and logistics engineering for new projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Capacity Analysis and logistics • Responsible for local inventory management (turn, accuracy, obsolete/excess/NCR) • Responsible for compliance to global SCM procedures and policies • Responsible for safety in the warehouse operations (Injury rate) • Responsible for local releases and forecast to suppliers • Responsible for local warehousing handling • Responsible for local plant material flow and line feeding process • Responsible for KPI’s, Management reports and continuous improvement delivery, costs, quality and safety for the local plant • Responsible for talent development local SCM • Partner with local production, purchasing and engineering
TEAM STRUCTURE Reports to local Vice President/General Manager Dotted Line to Regional Supply Chain Director. Works directly with local production, purchasing and engineering and regional External Logistics manager, Supply Chain Engineering manager and Materials Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises the employees in the Supply Chain department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • Educational level /Experience: Bachelor degree with 7-8+ years’ experience in Materials & logistics, preferably in tier 1 company in the automotive • Has experience as member of a management team • Extensive experience in materials planning, customer service and warehousing • Lean experience (5s, Value Stream Management (VSM), visuals, Standard work, etc) • Familiar with IATF16949 and ISO 14001 • Extensive experience in ERP and KPI management
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
