About this role
Role Objective: To provide overall leadership to the team and anchor programme and project management support to the client for implementation of the Small Hydro Power Programme, including supervision of team outputs, state coordination, high-level review support, and resolution tracking.
Minimum Academic Qualification: Master’s degree in Engineering (M.Tech / M.E.), preferably in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, or Management (MBA / PGDM). Bachelor degree from IIT/NIT and Master’s degree from IIT/IIM is preferred.
Minimum Relevant Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience (15+ years preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the team and supervise work allocated across the team to ensure timely and quality delivery of outputs to the client.
• Provide programme and project management support for the SHP scheme, including overall planning, prioritization, review of submissions, and coordination of workstreams.
• Support policy-related work, including review inputs, issue tracking, synthesis of programme learnings, and preparation of material required for decision-making and scheme implementation.
• Oversee preparation of quality manuals, review decks, background notes, issue papers, briefing notes, and presentations for high-level reviews and inter-departmental discussions.
• Coordinate with Central and State Government entities, implementing agencies, and other key stakeholders on programme implementation, approvals, monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Support state engagement by guiding preparation of State profiles, master decks for State review meetings, and structured trackers for follow-up on State-specific project and policy issues.
• Track progress of scheme implementation and support periodic State reviews, internal programme reviews, and stakeholder interactions convened by the client.
• Provide strategic oversight on cross-functional team outputs such as monitoring frameworks, implementation templates, data repositories, and programme dashboards.
Required Experience
• Experience of working with Central Government / State Government / Government agencies for 5+ years in India in the renewable energy or power sector, especially in Hydro related matters.
• Experience in programme management, policy support, project monitoring, or government advisory assignments in energy / infrastructure sectors.
• Strong capability in stakeholder management, review decks, briefing notes, and issue-resolution trackers.
