Scope: We are looking for a Research Librarian to join our Information Centre on a fixed term basis in Frankfurt. The information centre is a centralized department managing all research subscriptions and performing research requests supporting all employees within the firm on a global level. Librarians perform and deliver custom research assignment results to internal clients, provide training on information services as needed, evaluate new resources and advise internal business units on resource options as appropriate. Responsibilities:
• Perform customized, in-depth research across all industry sectors and lines of business covered by Houlihan Lokey, supporting the diverse information needs of the firm's global staff
• Manage and prioritize incoming research requests through the firm's central request management system to ensure timely delivery
• Format, package and deliver results of research projects to clients in an appropriate format
• Assist in evaluating new databases, assessing their relevance, and providing structured feedback
• Provide training on information sources as needed for financial staff.
Basic Qualifications:
• Fluent language skills in English and German • MLS or MLIS degree from an accredited graduate program
• 1 year of research experience, preferably within investment banking, legal, academic, or financial services environment.
• Ability to conduct thorough, accurate research and clearly summarize findings
• A proactive self-starter with the ability to manage individual research assignments independently while maintaining seamless communication and collaboration with a global team.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects
• Eagerness to learn financial terms, market concepts, and the specific research needs of our Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring, and Financial and Valuation Advisory practices
• Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies, including AI-driven research tools and automation, to improve daily workflow efficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer-service mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with industry-standard investment banking research platforms such as S&P, Factiva, Pitchbook, Bloomberg and/or others.
