About this role
We are seeking a Senior AI Gameplay Programmer to lead the design and implementation of advanced AI systems that power immersive, responsive, and engaging gameplay experiences.
You will work closely with designers, artists, and engineers to create:
Believable charactersDynamic behaviorsScalable AI architecturesKey Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize AI systems: behavior trees, state trees, utility AI, GOAP, state machines, and navigation systemsArchitect scalable, data-driven AI frameworks to support rapid iteration by designersIntegrate AI with gameplay features: animation, physics, and combat systemsOptimize AI performance for CPU and memory across PC, console, and mobile platformsCollaborate with design teams to prototype and refine NPC behaviors, combat logic, and decision-making systemsDebug complex AI and gameplay issues, including concurrency, pathfinding, and edge-case behaviorMentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practicesParticipate in code reviews and guide long-term technical directionStay current with emerging AI techniques in gaming and interactive systems Your Skills
5+ years in professional game development, including 3+ years in AI or gameplay systemsStrong proficiency in C++Deep understanding of AI architectures in games: behavior trees, utility systems, planning systems, navigation meshesExperience shipping at least two commercial game titlesStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimizationExperience with modern game engines: Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary enginesStrong debugging and profiling skillsExcellent communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skillsPreferred Qualifications & Experience
Expert Unreal Engine 5 knowledgeExperience building tools for designers: visual editors, debugging tools, telemetryFamiliarity with animation systems: IK, locomotion blending, procedural animationExperience developing for multiple platforms: PC, console, mobileBackground in combat AI, crowd systems, or large-scale NPC simulationPerks & benefits:
