About this role
We are looking for an experienced Construction Planning & Coordination Lead to support installation planning and onsite production activities on a nuclear site. This role will focus on coordinating daily installation work, ensuring teams follow validated plans, and maintaining productivity across a complex nuclear construction environment.
You will work closely with Construction Management, Site Supervision (Black Hats), Quality, and Site Engineering teams, using Primavera P6 to support planning, scheduling, and progress tracking of installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
Build the Shift S+1 Installation Plan through coordination with Construction Management, Site Supervision (Black Hats), Quality, and Site EngineeringUse Primavera P6 to support construction planning, scheduling, and progress monitoringEnsure planning considers building restrictions, material availability, approved workpacks, and workforce resource availabilityLead the Shift S+1 Validation Meeting and the daily Shift Kick-off MeetingContribute to updates of the 16 Week Look Ahead (16WLA) planning schedulePrepare and maintain contingency “backup work” plans to mitigate unexpected blockersOn-site Production Monitoring
Conduct daily site walks to monitor installation execution and identify blockers (access constraints, material availability, documentation issues, workforce limitations)Coordinate closely with Black Hats, Construction Managers, and site teams to resolve issues quickly and minimise productivity lossesEnsure the workforce adheres to the validated Shift S+1 Plan and does not deviate without justified reasonsMaintain contingency work plans to ensure continuity of site activities when planned work becomes blockedInterface with Site Engineering and the Design Back Office to support resolution of field engineering constraintsPerformance Analysis & Reporting
Monitor and analyse daily production output (planned vs actual)Track lost time, productivity trends, and recurring blockersCategorise issues as internal or external blockers and support resolutionWork with the Contract Quantity Surveyor (QS) to document external stoppages and assess claimabilityLead preparation of the Onsite Construction Monthly Progress Report, ensuring clear reporting of site progress and performance Required Skills:
Strong experience using Primavera P6 for construction planning and schedulingExperience in construction coordination, installation planning, or site production managementExperience working on large-scale infrastructure or nuclear construction projectsStrong understanding of construction planning processes and site executionExperience working closely with construction supervision, engineering, and quality teamsAbility to identify blockers quickly and drive solutions to maintain productivityRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Experience working on nuclear new build projectsFamiliarity with 16 Week Look Ahead planning (16WLA)Experience within nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated environmentsExperience supporting construction reporting and performance analysis Why join us?
