About this role
As a Signalling Integration Test Engineer, you will join our engineering team in Derby to support the integration and testing of advanced railway signalling systems.
You will play a key role in system integration, verification, and testing activities, ensuring signalling solutions function correctly within the wider rail infrastructure. Working across complex projects involving ETCS, CBTC, and conventional signalling systems, you will support the validation of integrated systems to ensure they meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
The role involves collaborating with systems engineers, signalling designers, software teams, and project stakeholders to plan and execute integration testing activities, analyse results, and ensure reliable signalling system performance.

Perform system integration and testing activities for railway signalling systemsDevelop and execute integration and system-level test procedures and test casesSupport verification and validation activities for ETCS, CBTC, and conventional signalling systemsWork with engineering teams to integrate signalling subsystems and interfacesAnalyse test results and system behaviour, identifying issues and supporting resolution activitiesEnsure traceability between requirements, integration testing, and verification evidenceSupport test planning, documentation, and reporting in line with project and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and clients during integration and testing phasesContribute to system commissioning and validation activities where required Required Skills:
Experience in railway signalling integration, testing, or system verificationStrong understanding of railway signalling systems and architecturesKnowledge of ETCS, CBTC, interlocking systems, or conventional signalling principlesExperience developing and executing system or integration-level test casesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills when investigating system behaviourGood communication and teamwork skills when working with multidisciplinary engineering teamsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Experience with signalling system integration labs or test environmentsKnowledge of verification and validation processes within rail projectsExperience supporting installation, testing, or commissioning activitiesFamiliarity with railway safety standards and regulatory frameworksPrevious experience working on large-scale rail infrastructure or signalling upgrade projects Why join us?
