Job Title: Tax Manager Department: Finance Report to: VP of Global Tax / Finance Controller Location: Dallas, TX (On-Site)
Position Summary: The Tax Manager, will be primarily responsible for tax reporting related to US manufacturing operations , including Federal, State, and local tax returns and tax accounting, tax compliance, while directly supporting the activities for tax planning initiatives, work with global tax leaders to develop tax strategies, to minimize tax exposures, and other initiatives as required to directly support the business unit and department needs.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the preparation and review of direct & indirect tax including federal and state income and franchise tax, sales & use tax filings for the entities in the region and ensure timely submission. • Manage all aspects of the Company’s worldwide ASC 740 income tax provision process, accounting, and related financial statement disclosures. Explains and discusses these items with senior management and the independent auditors. • Conduct analysis and documentation for ASC 740-10 FIN 48 reserves. • Coordinate with external consultant in preparing the transfer pricing documentation for the region. • Ensure Company’s income tax accounting review and documentation processes and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements, driving towards a best-in-class SOX infrastructure. • Forecasting and analysis of quarterly and annual effective tax rates. Work with FP&A to improve forecasting ability by legal entity, • Work with global tax team to develop and implement tax strategies and policies, maintain compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations. • Lead on any tax audit (federal and state), communications with tax authorities and handle the extensions and quarterly estimates tax • Supporting business unit needs by providing tax guidance to strategize tax exposures, assist to identify tax issues and develop solutions, and keep abreast of new developments in tax legislation • Assist with special projects as necessary, such as tax research, tax planning strategies, forecasts, credits, mergers & acquisitions, etc.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in tax or finance. CPA preferred, Masters in Taxation or LLM in Taxation a plus. • 5+ years of work experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ compliance experience in public accounting firm or equivalent experience in tax department of a large corporation preferred. • Strong technical proficiency in ASC 740. • Experience with transfer pricing is a plus. • Must be a detail-oriented, organized thinker with strong accounting, analytical and computer skills. • High degree of accuracy and proven ability to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment. • The individual must have the highest standards of integrity, business controls, and business practices. • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, organizations, and with external contacts. • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and cross-culturally. • Experience with renewable energy sector is a plus.
