JOB OVERVIEW
The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, integrating automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring comprehensive validation across UI, API, and integration layers. This role oversees both manual and automated test activities, reviews test documentation for quality, tracks key automation and quality metrics, and conducts root cause analysis to address testing gaps and prevent defects. The Test Engineer reports to the IT Director and works closely with agile teams to promote shift‑left testing, supports continuous improvement of testing processes and tools, and provides clear communication on test readiness, risks, and automation progress to stakeholders and leadership.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using industry standard tools. Implement automated test coverage across UI, API, and integration layers, ensuring support for cross browser, cross device, and multi region testing.
Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and enable automated execution for smoke, regression, and sanity tests.
Monitor and analyze pipeline failures, driving improvements to execution time, stability, and reliability.
Review test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with testing standards.
Maintain an effective balance between manual and automated testing approaches.
Define, track, and communicate key automation and quality metrics such as coverage, stability, and defect leakage.
Conduct root cause analysis on production issues to identify and address gaps in test coverage.
Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, and retrospectives.
Collaborate closely with development teams to promote shift left testing practices and advocate for quality throughout the SDLC.
Provide regular updates on automation progress, risks, and release readiness to project teams and leadership.
Present automation metrics, testing outcomes, and quality insights to stakeholders.
Identify and recommend improvements to testing tools, processes, and workflows to enhance overall efficiency and quality.
* This position must be filled from within the Eurofins US Food & Feed Organization, and requires the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in test automation for web and API based applications
Prior experience working in agile development environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in cross functional teams
Detail oriented with a passion for quality
Strong experience with automation tools
Experience in API automation
Proficiency in C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, and SQL Server
Familiarity with front-end frameworks, React and Blazor a plus
Experience with test frameworks
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms
Experience with performance or security testing tools is a plus
